"You're Getting To Be A Habit With Me" is a song with music by Harry Warren and lyrics by Al Dubin. It was introduced in the musical "42nd Street" in 1932. It has an unusual structure: ABA'. The A and B sections are 8 measures long and the A' section is 10 bars long, with the last two bars being a short tag ending.
There are a number ways to harmonize the melody, particularly in the A sections. My version uses unconventional chord changes; the conventional changes are not incorrect, but mine are to my taste. This arrangement also shortens the A' section to 8 measures, reserving the last two measures (the tag) for the final chorus as a coda.
I play this at 100 bpm. A number of styles are appropriate, including Ballad Swing and Medium Swing.
