So you manually added: "Jack.........(paraphrase)” to your post this time?
I've seen it before, so you've manually added it each time?
It appears your signature is part of your profile (and is enabled)
Perhaps admin may have globally disabled the auto-sig function as we have been experiencing an up-tick in spammer activity.

No, I didn't manually add anything. You mean you see it on my posts? It doesn't show at all on my iPhone 5C.
I don't really care about that quotation. I just decided to start using my real name, Jack, but I never remember to add it.
No sig line on that post...
Do you always post from the same device?
Can you look at your posts using a PC here:

Ok I eliminated the quote, so do you still see my name after THIS message? [Edit : I don't.]
Second attempt, this time instead of "Quick Reply," I went "Advanced." [EDIT: This time I see my signature. [At least, I DID until I edited it, then it disappeared again.]
Quick Reply: No signature.
Go Advanced: Signature.
Go Advanced, then go back and edit: No signature, again. [No blue line showing that I had edited it, either.] [2nd edit showed the blue edit line.]
Small thing.
Thanks for the information and your methodical testing.
I think that while there are some functions that admin can enable (or not), the forums are designed by and offered through an outside company.
Some things remain mysterious.

And this is a very small thing.😌
I checked the settings and the signature should show up, it's not blocked.
I see it in your first message in the threads so maybe it only appears once in each thread
Niki, I think the reason that my signature shows when my message is the opening message in a new thread is because I almost certainly use a Title in a thread-opening message, therefore I "Go Advanced" to get a Title box. It always shows my signature when I "Go Advanced," whether it's the opening message of a thread or not. (This is a Quick Reply.)
This time I used "Go Advanced."
This time Quick Reply.
So you solved the mystery. Thank you Jack! ;)
Ha! You give me way too much credit. Maybe I identified the problem a bit, but solving is what you computer experts do. I'm just lucky enough to have a lot of fun with what you guys produce.
